Interactive book

This interactive book is designed and developed as an onboarding tool for an organisation wishing to train employees to uphold its four primary values:

  1. You matter.
  2. Growth matters.
  3. Our work matters.
  4. Authenticity matters.

Notice how this interactive notebook follows Merril’s Principles of Instruction, starting with the real-world problem of adhering to the organisation’s values. Learner’s are activated to consider how people feel like they matter, personally and at work. Then it demonstrates the concepts of being valued and adding value. Following that, learners are able to apply what they know through a drag-and-drop activity. Finally, they integrate what they are learning by writing mini-essays about how they will apply their new knowledge in the workplace.

The interactive elements of this notebook enable learners to assess their prior knowledge and test what they are learning in a low-stakes environment. In this sense, the drag-and-drop elements function as formative feedback since learners also receive automated feedback on their attempts.
